Storm

Two weeks later

“Ma-Ma stop opening the cookies until mommy pays for them,” I laughed at Rain because she opened the Chip Ahoy cookies. We were in Target shopping for some personal goods and a new comforter set for her and myself. Plus, Target was my feel better place. I came here always when I was feeling down or just needed some retail therapy. Aboya always teased me calling me a grandma because I would be in this store for hours.

“Oh my goodness, she is beautiful. Look at those emerald eyes and that red hair!” This old lady walked down the same aisle me and Rain were in.

Not trying to brag but people were always stopping me about Rain. If it wasn’t her then it was myself or both of us were getting stopped together about our looks. I can’t tell you how many ‘modeling agencies’ want to book me and her. But still, I always said thank you and smiled. Like this lady and her husband were so sweet.

“Thank you so much, Rain say thank you,” I smiled and said to Rain making her laugh.

“Twank youuu,” me and the lady laughed at the way she said thank you.

“Aww bless you sweetie and your beautiful mother. Bye-bye,” the lady smiled at Rain and I walked away down the next aisle.

“Everybody loves you ma-ma,” I pinched my baby cheeks and kissed her. I needed to be around her because I was still feeling down. It was now June and I still had not been requested from the Pleasure Palace. It had to be something wrong with me. This shit was taking a shot at my confidence. Was I sounding crazy for tripping about not being chosen as an escort? I mean I was already being ballsy with choosing to be a no restrictions escort. So I felt like that was even worse. Not to mention I had no money coming in. Aboya stressed over and over that she had everything covered. But that wasn’t the point, my savings was running out and I needed to get a job.

“Ma-Ma do you think mommy would look good in khakis and a red shirt?” I played around with Rain referring to the Target uniform.

“Naw, khakis doesn’t do shit for that figure lil lady,” keeping my back to the most annoying person who I knew was behind me I rolled my eyes. Giving Rain another cookie I was about to push the buggy away from him but his voice stopped me.

“For real Storm, you’ll just walk away like you don’t know I’m behind you?” still rolling my eyes I caught my breath when he stood on the side of me.

“Who is this beautiful little lady?” When he looked down and smiled big at Rain I melted. His smile was just as gorgeous as his serious face. Or his pissed off face, and oh yea, that turned on face. Make things so bad Rain smiled back big at him and tried to give him some of her cookie.
